Maryland’s Vehicle State Inspection

Have you recently moved to Maryland? Bought a new vehicle? Had a title change? If so, you’ll need to have an inspection done. We are here to help!

What happens during the inspection?

During the inspection we will road test your vehicle, examine all the nuts and bolts and ensure everything is working properly. This process takes approximately two hours. If we see something that needs fixed, we won’t do any work on it until we speak with you. Our goal is to certify your car is in safe, working condition and reaches the minimum standard for a state inspection, not sell you on unnecessary work.

We’ve been certified to do state inspections for 26. We’ve seen it all! Because of this our technicians make it their mission to help educate car owners and welcome any questions you have during the process. We also provide recommendations on anything that currently passes inspection but could become a problem in the future.

What happens if I don’t pass?

No one wants to see the word fail at the top of their paperwork but sometimes that happens. If it does, we’ll let you know what needs fixed to pass the inspection. We’ll give you our quote and then you have 30 days to get it fixed and bring it back to us for a re-inspection. Maryland law requires that the re-inspection be done by the same registered inspection mechanic at the same station.
